Harley Is Still Looking for a Home... and a Slide-Show

Hi Everyone,

It looks as if Harley is still on the lookout for a long term home.

It seems that one of the things that might be against him is the fact that he is a black cat. Often black cats are considered unlucky, although personally I've always liked having a black cat around.

Perhaps they don't look so glamorous and cute as other coloured cats. Pye certainly looks funny when he tries to do cute; he is much more successful than his predecessor Tasha, but I like more than cuteness in my cats. I like character.

I have got around to putting together a scrap-page slide-show of the entries for the Harley's Angels challenge set up by Oreosmeow (Scraps by Oreo's Meow)  to continue highlighting Harley's need for a good home.

I really quite enjoyed putting this together in Photo Story 3, and am once again grateful to Iris, Trulytango on the Daisy Trail Forum for showing us how to make these in her Slideshow Enthusiasts Group

I do hope that someone, somewhere will consider taking on this little fellow. From what I've heard, he does indeed seem to be a Cat of Character and certainly deserves a chance of a good home and bringing joy to the family who takes him in.

Blessings,

Karen

More Harley's Angels Challenge Pages

Hi everyone,

Harley is still looking for the home of his dreams. Alas, not only do we already have two cats, so don't meet the criteria of allowing Harley to be an "only" cat, but we also live the other side of the Atlantic, otherwise I'd offer him a home like a shot.

Anyone in New Jersey looking for a feline companion? If so, please do get in touch with Oreosmeow, Angel Paws, or Harley's foster mum.

There have been some beautiful pages made for Oreosmeow's SBF challenge to help highlight finding a "Furrever Home" for Harley. All the Harley photos were provided by Oreosmeow.

Aren't they absolutely fabulous?!

If you want to view any of them in close-up, then hop along to the Harley's Angels Challenge page at Scrapbook Flair.

Alternatively, over the weekend I am going to have another go at making up a slideshow, using these pages. So if you want to come back and see how that turns out - watch this space!

The challenge finished today, and I was absolutely amazed and delighted that my blue page was chosen as the Challenge Owner's Choice. Thank you very much, Oreosmeow. It is much appreciated.

Blessings,

Karen

Harley's Angels SBF Challenge Pages

Hi Everyone,

Following on from my previous post, the SBF Harley's Angels challenge has only begun  today but some lovely pages have already appeared. And they are a wonderful contribution to the cause of finding Harley his "Furever Home" as Oreosmeow puts it. You can read all about the project to find Harley his new home on her blog, Scraps By Oreo's Meow.

All the photos are from Oreosmeow, as are these next two pages. If you click on any of the pages you can get a better view of them.

Kit used is called Mint Memories, and it's by Angel Baby Scraps

Kit used is DaisyTrail's Moonlight Forest; lyrics by Eric Carmen and Sergei Rachmaninoff, info courtesy of Wikipedia.

This page is by Scrapping Lee, using a kit from Misty's Designs called "Friends"

These next two pages are by Lavender Skies; the second using a kit from Joelles Wildwood Village.

These next two pages are by Neeltje; the first background is a mask by Barbucha with some effects in pse9 image and elements by tubes-passion; the second using a kit called Desire by Lavendel Creations

There are some very talented people out there, and it's lovely to see the support for Harley.

Blessings,

Karen

Harley the Cat Wants a New Home

Hi Everyone,

Over on ScrapBook Flair a challenge has been started up by Oreosmeow  to bring a delightful cat called Harley as much attention as we can, to help him find a new home.

At the moment Harley is being fostered in Woodbridge, NJ at an Angel PAWS volunteer's home.

Some information from Scraps at Oreosmeow, furnished by Harley's foster carer.

"Harley was found outside, hungry and unable to walk on one of his rear legs. A rescuer was able to trap him and get him to the vet. It was found that he had an infected abscess on his paw as well as some already healing wounds on his body. He was given an antibiotic and the abscess is healing. He had it very rough outside since he had no idea how to survive.

He loves pets and belly rubs and will let you know when he wants more. He's about 2 or 3 years old and tested negative for FIV and FeLV. He has been neutered and is up to date with routine shots. He does have a hematoma on his left ear so it flaps over giving him even more character. It does not cause him any pain or discomfort."

The problem is that Harley prefers his own company to that of other felines, and doesn't get on with his foster mum's own cats. As a result, he has to be kept separate, and is in great need of a loving family home of his own, where he is the sole cat.

If you live in the Woodbridge, NJ area and would like to take on this lovely little character, or perhaps know someone who might be interested, please do get in touch with Oreosmeow, Angel Paws, or Harley's foster mum.

Harley reminds me very much of our own Pyewacket (and he would love to be an only cat as well. ), and I am sure that like most cats he can bring much joy, love and companionship to any relationship.

I had a little fun last night putting together some pages for the challenge. Personally I don't think they are anywhere near as good as some that have already been posted, but they are my little contribution to the cause.

The kit I used for various elements was the one recently put together as a collaborative charity kit for Angel Paws, called "Second Chance", found at Angel Baby Scraps. There is so much to choose from in this kit, and it's not just animal themed. You'll find something to use no matter what your style, and at $3 (cost me all of £1.93) an absolute snip!

Couldn't resist having another play with the Word Art Frames, adding different effects to ring the changes.

Playing around in the Craft Artist effects section I came up with the effect on the red page, which I have saved as my "Harley Red" effect. The little cat edging to the page is from a Photoshop brush by B Sylvia of Graphics-Illustrations.

Used Truly Tango Scraps DSA/Craft Artist Effect "Copper Frost" on the final page.

Harley photos all supplied by Oreosmeow.

I do hope Harley soon finds a new home and a family who will love and look after him for the rest of his days.

Blessings,

Karen
